And the result, Miss Michigan - Kirsten Haglund Crowned Miss America. Haglund, a 19-year-old of Farmington Hills, Michigan. She beat Miss Indiana Nicole Elizabeth Rash and Miss Washington Elyse Umemoto. She got a prize the $50,000 scholarship and year of travel that comes with the crown.
