Will History repeated? Obama would like Al Gore
There is a bad scenario for the Democratic Party. The candidate, Barack Obama won the most votes. However, John McCain reach the Electoral College victory.
Indeed, in several polling, McCain was under Obama. The results of the survey also shows, Obama had the most to reach 270 electoral votes needed to win the election.
This means that, on paper, McCain has a low opportunity to win. However, a number of last polling, the Arizona Senator is successfully winning over Obama in a number of main states such as: Virginia, Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
If the poll is accurate, and the voters who have not specify the options in countries that are a part McCain, Democrats will swallow a bitter pill. The election defeat Democrats in 2000 will be repeated.
In 2000, the candidate of Democratic, Al Gore won the popular vote (the most) by collecting 537,179 votes. However his rival from the Republic, George W. Bush won the electoral vote calculation determine the presidency chair: 271 electoral votes. While Gore only received 266 electoral votes. The results are not yet clear to the calculation in Florida finished. The result, 25 votes from Florida electoral votes given to Bush who win by the difference of only 537 votes.
Interestingly, before the 2000 election, political observers predict the opposite. That Bush may win the most votes from Gore, but lost in the electoral votes.
But, the other possibilities could occur. McCain may win the most votes but Obama finally settled on the White House.
Another possibility. Electoral votes both Obama and McCain in the same. In that case, members of the U.S. House of Representatives will determine the winner. Ouch. In politics, anything can happen!
