The TalkTalk service run by Carphone Warehouse had people expressed satisfaction with its service.
OK, so its not entirely “free” as you have to sign up to their TalkTalk Plan. It’s the only costs £8.99 a month, plus a line rental of £11 per month. You will get Free modem, Free calls to all other TalkTalk customers, Unlimited calls to any local and national UK landline numbers, Unlimited international landline calls to 28 mainland countries and Free landline calls.
