Holiday and Weight
What’s a relation for a holiday and body weight? It’s a significant corelation for me. Before holidays: 110 lbs. After holiday: 130 lbs. I have a gym membership. Today, I got a suggestion from my trainer…
Okay, first of all it is great that you have a gym membership! Now lets put it to work for you!
You have two choices in training: work out every day or every other day. If you work out every day, you have to work your upper body one day and your lower body the next. I prefer to work out every other day and do the whole bod! This gives my body a day off every other day. This is important since your muscles break down when you work out and then re-build up on your day of rest.
Weights and machines will tone you up and the more muscle you have, the more you burn while pumping iron. Cardio (bike, treadmill, eliptical) burns the fat.
You can count your reps but sometime, we tend to say “I’ll lift this weight 25 times” but you can actually do more reps!
Here is what I do: I work a machine until I start to get “the burn”. Then I push myself to lift 10 more. I use smaller amounts of weight and do more reps. This makes me leaner instead of bulking up. I also do 20 minutes on a cardio machine.
I go to the gym every other day. That means M, W, F and then Sun, T, Th, Sat.
When you go to the gym, if you don’t know how to adjust a machine or use it properly, ask for help! I almost threw out my back doing ab machine incorrectly!
It takes about three weeks for your brain to understnd what your body is doing. BUT, you will start to see the “cut” in about the third week.
Now I know you want to know if I have lost that weight! YES! I started working out the first week in November. Even with holiday eating, I have lost 10 lbs and have beautiful toned muscle. I love to “flex” and see it and the inside of my legs/thighs are “cut” and like a super model’s! Remember, it is not only about losing the weight but toning up and being healthy.
I also eat 6 times a day and eat healthier than before I started the working out. Post if you need help with that.
